Synopsis:
Although the truth about the inevitable is an enduring enigma, humans have long grasped for answers. What can ancient death practices teach us about our own fatal obsession? From millennia-old boatmen preserved in the sand, to the hanging coffins of the Igorot, dangling precariously overhead; from Scythian mounds that pay homage to warriors on horseback, to an ancient wonder hidden under ruins of Alexandria, grave goods, glorious tombs, and mysterious unearthings reveal the path and plight of mortals in the ancient world.
