Synopsis:
In the seventh year of the World Water Wars, disillusioned war veteran Hailey Freeman moved back to rural Nova Scotia, and committed herself to helping her father maintain their generational farming legacy and raise her son, Emmanuel. It was there she met Gavin Monroe, her father's foreman, with whom she had three children. Upon the sudden passing of her father in a startling tragedy, Hailey and Gavin turned her farm into a fortified stronghold, and their family into a lethally trained defence force that could protect itself against the growing threats of the world. In the years following, the family partnered itself with a small, unseen network of other survivalists and settled into a life of isolationism for many years. Now, ten years after the tragedy that claimed her father, Hailey is tested again when her son, a month before his arranged marriage to another farm, disobeys his mother's order when he allows a suspicious drifter to escape unharmed.
