Synopsis:
The Handmaid's Tale is a dystopian drama series set in the totalitarian theonomic state of "Gilead", which has overthrown the U.S. government after a fertility crisis and environmental disasters. Fertile women, known as Handmaids, are sexually enslaved to give birth to children for the ruling elite. The story follows June, renamed "Offred", one of these Handmaids, as she navigates the brutal regime, struggles to survive, and tries to reunite with her daughter and resist Gilead.
